1 If necessary, turn on the scanner, wait 5 seconds, and then

turn on the printer.

The power switch is located on the right side of the image scan-

ner.

2 When the scanner’s Power and Ready LEDs are on, open the

scanner cover and put a document face down, with the top to

the left, on the scanner glass.

If necessary, flatten out any curls or folds in the document.

The left side and top edge of the document should be aligned

with the reference frame in the upper-left corner of the scanner

glass.
