An optional security key is available to password protect the Operator

Control and the Administration menus. When a security key is

installed, the Installation menu appears in the printer's menu struc-

ture.

▲ Caution:

Even though both the security and serial options have a DB-

9 interface, the connectors are keyed, and they can’t be interchanged.

Make sure that you install the security key only in the slot marked

SECURITY on the back of the printer.

The security key port is located on the back left side of the printer. To

install a security key, use the following procedure:

1 Make sure the printer is on line.

The Online indicator light should be on.
